This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Police Officers to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: Performs duties as Desk Operations Supervisor on a specific shift assigned to the U.S. Army Garrison Directorate of Emergency Services. Is responsible for directing, coordinating and scheduling the Military Police Desk Operations. This job does not have an education qualification requirement. Who May Apply: US Citizens

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1.) Taking incident reports from people who report crimes in person or over the phone, and addressing citizens requests, concerns, and complaints; 2.) Applying basic laws and regulations, law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques and involved responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and property; AND 3.) Performing duties on a civilian police force and/or through service as a military police officer and perform criminal investigative duties. The OPM Qualification Standard states experience must have provided knowledge of a body of basic laws and regulations, law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques and involved responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and property. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone — no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
