This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Intelligence Training Academy (ITA).

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Supervisory Intelligence Operations Specialist and Intelligence Training Acadamy Director.

Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position. Not Applicable As a Supervisory Intelligence Operations Specialist, GS-0132-15, your typical work assignments may include:

  • Develops goals and objectives integrating the organization and I&A’s Intelligence Training Academy (TA) objectives. Plans and schedules work in a manner promoting a smooth flow and even distribution.
  • Represents the organization on working groups; steering groups; or other meetings, conferences, seminars, etc. Promotes interchange of information on requirements, capabilities, deficiencies, and technology applications of specialization.
  • Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of ITA team, ensuring ITA activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
  • Leads the development of new intelligence training programs, curricula, and materials, and the evaluation, updating, and maintenance of the current inventory of intelligence training programs, curricula, and materials based on instructional systems design principles and adult learning theory.
  • Prioritizes and develops and implements a process for gathering data and incorporating input from internal and external subject matter experts and stakeholders on intelligence training methods, standards, topics and required skill sets, and for the review and evaluation of possible new training program concepts and materials.

You qualify for the GS-15 grade level if you possess the specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in Federal service or equivalent private/public sector experience. For this position, specialized experience is defined as:

  • Developing and defining goals and objectives integrating the organization and objectives for the Intelligence Training Academy.
  • Serving as the primary lead on development of new intelligence training programs, curricula, and materials, and the evaluation, updating, and maintenance of the current inventory of intelligence training programs.
  • Coordinating with agency partners and gathering data and incorporating input from internal and external subject matter experts and stakeholders on intelligence training methods, standards, topics and required skill sets.
