Job Description:

General Dynamics Global Force (GDGF) is looking to solve United States Special Operations Command’s (USSOCOM) most complex challenges through the pursuit of the future Special Operations Forces Global Logistics Support Services (SOF GLSS) contract. SOF GLSS is the primary means of acquiring, designing, manufacturing and distributing SOF-peculiar equipment, globally. SOF GLSS is currently a large, enterprise contract primarily based out of Bluegrass Station in Lexington, Kentucky.

The SOF Rotary Wing (RW) Lead manages and directs all aspects of the program’s SOF rotary wing programs.

HOW A SOF ROTARY WING LEAD WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Provide critical leadership for new business capture lifecycle – from opportunity identification, qualification, and win strategy development through the post submission phases of the Business Capture Process across all aspects of SOF RW fleet ranging opportunities from technical integration, modifications and maintenance on AH-6; MH-47; MH-60 and unmanned aviation systems.
  • Work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, formulate, communicate and implement an integrated business development and capture strategy that provides customers a clear and defensible justification for selecting GDGF for the award
  • Develop and implement campaign plans and strategies for SOF RW areas, maintain a firm comprehension of the customer's requirements, understand the strengths/weaknesses of our competitors and develops/implements winning strategies that highlight strengths and mitigate weaknesses
  • Establish value-added teaming strategies; analyze markets for company products and services
  • Perform business development functions including networking, research, tracking opportunities, and communicating updates with stakeholders to increase business branding, opportunities, and growth
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry partners, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Proactively manage program and synchronize the efforts of multiple support functions to maintain and improve enterprise level efficiency and effectiveness
  • Communicate program status, progress, and issues to both GDGF and customer stakeholders; negotiate program changes and adjustments as needed
  • Interface regularly with PEO SOFSA Senior Leadership located at Lexington Kentucky and other senior leaders at Fort Bragg; program managers, technical leads, and acquisition officials
  • Engage in cross-business area collaboration to deliver solutions to the SOF Operator

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Masters degree in Business Administration
  • Required Experience: 10+ years of experience leading and serving in SOF aviation organizations (theater and national SOF mission forces), including elements of logistics, supply chain, complex design and manufacturing of DoD materiel and services. 15+ years of SOF operational and program management experience in the Joint and Army Special Operations organizations. Experience managing an organization of 1000+ direct reporting personnel. Experience leading within a global staff of 500+ full-time employees including subcontractors and vendors.
  • Security Clearance Level: An active Top Secret. Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI.
  • Required Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills. Experience managing and motivating multi-functional, geographically dispersed teams. Experience coordinating limited resources across multiple projects. Excellent communication skills, including with technical AND non-technical individuals. Excellent critical thinking judgement and decision-making skills. Excellent client-facing communication skills. Experience managing government contracts.
  • Certifications: Attend Shipley training for business development within the first 12 months
  • Preferred Skills: 15+ years of experience managing programs or projects in a DoD environment. Familiar with the Federal procurement process. Experience with the administration of various contract types, including cost-type and firm-fixed-price.

The likely salary range for this position is $170,000 – $230,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
