Lockheed Martin (LM) is looking for a dedicated Range Safety Systems Engineer to become a member of the Safety Integration Team. This position supports the Range Safety Coordinator (RSC) for the FBM Test Missile Kit (TMK) production and the D5 flight test program by ensuring TMK flight hardware meets Range requirements to support program needs.

Responsibilities for this position will include:

• Witnessing testing, reviewing test data, managing range requirements, developing Range Notifications, and integrating the Range Integration Team.

• Participate in Failure Review Boards (FRBs) and provide guidance on Range reportability concerning the Tracking, Telemetry, and Flight Termination Subsystem electronics.

• Support on-site as needed for FBM In-Tube Conversion at the Strategic Weapons Facilities and serves as the technical guidance on Range reportability for TMK related issues during conversion.

• Generate technical reports and Range Safety Notifications on TMK anomalies when required.

• Interface with the Air Force’s 45th Space Wing.

• Prepares presentations and technical briefings to support FBM Flight Readiness, Safety Review Boards and Program Reviews.

• Maintains a close relationship with the U.S. Navy to ensure customer requirements are fulfilled.

• Provide direction in FRBs, presenting status to Senior Stakeholders, and understanding when Sr. Stakeholders needs to be informed of potential issues.

• Providing guidance on general safety issues.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related Engineering degree or related equivalent experience.

• Experience with Systems Disciplines in one or more of the following areas:
a) Systems Safety
b) Range Safety
c) Missile Systems

• Experience with project schedules and Plan of Actions and Milestones (POAMs)

• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance, thus US Citizenship is required

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
