Job Description

BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Manager responsible for the coordination, planning, scheduling of the Major Projects and Programs Work Area at Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) in Wallops Island, VA. The mission at SCSC includes Research and Development, Training, Fleet Emergent Testing, System Integration and hardware/software Certification. The SCSC is located on a barrier island on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and is a tenant of the NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility. SCSC provides live combat systems suites with platform specific radars and sensors and supports the following functions: combat system lifetime support engineering, platform certification, operational and technical evaluation, combat system training, interoperability testing and participates in at-sea exercises. SCSC provides a high-fidelity representative combat system of every ship in the AEGIS and Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) fleet today and those planned in the future.
The selected candidate will determine, monitor and review costs, operational budgets and schedules and manpower requirements and provide support across the SCSC Technical Directorate in developing and executing strategies that drive organizational effectiveness, enhance leadership capabilities and deliver impactful results and services for the customer.

Required Skills and Education

Education and years of related/relevant experience required:  5 years of management experience with the Surface Combat Systems, including responsibility for managing technical performance, reliability, maintainability, cost, schedule, and delivery requirements. 

Security clearance requirement:  This position requires the successful candidate to be able to obtain a Secret level clearance.  The criteria for obtaining and holding a clearance are driven by US government requirements.  You must be a US citizen to obtain a security clearance.  If candidate selected needs to be processed for the Secret clearance, he/she will receive a contingent offer and start date will be delayed until an interim Secret clearance is granted.
