Job Description

You will be a Mechanical Design Engineer for our team, working on exciting projects like the Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) Missile and launch pod. Our team is responsible for delivering high-quality designs and supporting production efforts to meet customer needs.

What You Will Be Doing
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for performing production support, collaborating with manufacturing teams, and resolving technical issues to ensure seamless production of our products. You will work on a variety of projects, using your technical expertise to drive results and improve processes.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Providing production support and technical expertise for GMLRS production
• Collaborating with manufacturing teams and suppliers to resolve production issues
• Revising and releasing engineering designs and drawings
• Working with a senior lead Design Engineer to prioritize tasks and projects
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, such as Stress Analysis, Materials and Processes, Test, and Production

This position is in Grand Prairie, TX

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN – This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited university.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling and design software for part and assembly design, and associated configuration management tool for managing engineering data and documentation.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials selection, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
• Experience in creating detailed engineering drawings in compliance with ASME Y14.100 standards.
• Solid knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) in accordance with ASME Y14.5.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Detail-oriented with a focus on process and quality.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Security Clearance Information

This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
