Office of the Director of National Intelligence

The National Intelligence University (NIU) is the Intelligence Community’s sole accredited, federal degree-granting institution. It serves as the intellectual hub for the intelligence profession, preparing today’s leaders for tomorrow’s challenges. Master’s degree Develops and delivers curriculum supporting NIU’s Russia, Europe, and Eurasia curriculum.

Teaches core and elective courses in the NIU degree program with strong collaboration with Program Directors, faculty colleagues, and the Dean.

Implements and enforces appropriate learning standards and rigor, and uses outcome assessment data for course curricular, and program improvement.

Develops a rich learning environment through instructional technology.

Guides students independent research via thesis projects or similar products.

Undertakes and disseminates research that contributes to the Intelligence Community’s needs.

Participates fully in institutional activities at the University, College, and Departmental level.

Maintains active liaison with government and private sector civilian, military, educational individuals associated with intelligence. Mandatory Requirements:

Extensive knowledge of international relations.

Extensive knowledge of contemporary and historical Russian affairs with an emphasis on its strategic culture(s), its security affairs, it’s socio-political dynamics.

Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information in a clear, concise manner that is targeted to, and meets the needs of, diverse audiences with different perspectives and objectives.

Interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team or collaborative environment; initiative in carrying out mission responsibilities based on supervisor guidance.

Demonstrated aptitude to teach at the graduate level.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate with external entities, build robust communities of interest, and create teams to achieve goals.

Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research and publish findings.

Ability to supervise and guide student research.

Master’s Degree

Desired Requirements:

Ph.D. in field Russia-studies related field.

Experience as a graduate level educator.

Experience in curriculum development.

Experience delivering curriculum via non-traditional means.

Strong publication and engagement record.

Experience in the IC.

Experience in fields related to organizational leadership and management.
