GA-EMS offers modular and scalable satellite platforms backed with a history of operational flight experience to support defense, civil, commercial, and academic mission requirements.
Our space systems team is looking for a Spacecraft Systems Engineer to support the design development and verification of new spacecraft design.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support program requirement verification through the assembly, integration, and test process, including system-level test.
- Perform analysis and decomposition of system, segment and subsystem requirements.
- Troubleshoot conflicting design/development requirements, difficult coordination requirements, and special material requirements.
- Provide documentation and make technical presentations as required.
- Support program design and readiness reviews.
- May represent the organization as the prime technical contact on small contracts or single component projects.
- Establish collaborative working relationships with peers to ensure synergy across space, ground, and launch segments.
- Provide proactive and pragmatic Fault Detection, Isolation and Recovery (FDIR) design and interfaces to ensure mission requirements are satisfied by SV design.
- Develop FDIR test scenarios and support test plan and procedure development to ensure SV FDIR design is fully tested.
- Prepare systems engineering and FDIR design artifacts.
- Utilize Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches to define and inform mission and spacecraft architecture. System Engineering work products may include:
- CONOPS
- System Architecture
- Requirements and Interface Control Documents
- Mission and System Analysis
- Trade Studies
- Maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Job Qualifications
- Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; six or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, four or more years of experience with a masters degree, or two or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
- Prior space domain experience which may include space vehicles or satellite ground systems is desirable.
- Experience working on an Integrated Product Team.
- Familiarity with the following tools is desired: Cameo or Magic Draw, DOORS, Atlassian (JIRA, Confluence).
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required enabling an effective leadership interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, potential customers, and government representatives.
- Able to support test and verification activities, which may occasionally be scheduled outside of standard business hours, including weekends.
- Must have active DOD Top Secret security clearance and be able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI security clearance
