Job Summary

The Software Engineer will work in a small, agile company environment on the software running the next Electro-optical/Infrared (EOIR) satellite imagers for the United States Space Force. The Engineer will work closely with Software and Electrical Engineering teams on the embedded software team in Acton, MA. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Applies basic technical knowledge to analyze, investigate and resolve assigned routine engineering problems.
  • Performs functional testing of equipment and systems by utilizing standard engineering and scientific principles.
  • Obtains and analyzes test data.
  • Develops appropriate documentation of findings and implemented solutions, and communicates results to project engineering staff.
  • May be required to make technical presentations to project staff.
  • May provide direction to design staff or technicians.
  • Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Performing software design, implementation, and unit test of software components for embedded systems.
  • Performing hardware and software integration efforts
  • Writing software to support automated verification of the software running on hardware
  • Supporting hardware and software in developing tools for analysis

Job Qualifications

  • Typically requires a bachelors degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
  • High-level programming languages
    • C
    • C++
    • Python
  • Linux operating system experience with Linux programming desirable
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills with software and hardware
  • Understanding of the principles of Electrical Engineering and digital circuits 
  •  Good communication, computer, and interpersonal skills are required to enable an effective interface with other professionals, to produce appropriate documentation, and to present results to a limited internal audience.
  • Must be able to work both independently and on a team.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance is required
