Job Description
BAE Systems RF Capability Group (Nashua, NH) is seeking a strong Senior Principal RF/Microwave Engineer with considerable experience designing Microwave hardware modules in our Nashua, NH location. This position requires expertise designing wideband microwave modules, including receiver front ends, tuners, up/down converters, and/or switch matrices. Candidates are expected to support all phases of development from early-stage architecture reviews through production. The applicant must be able to work independently with minimal technical direction and lead small development team as part of a larger program construct.
Key responsibilities:
- Serve as technical lead or principal investigator on Capability Group programs
- Design leading-edge hardware modules with a focus on small size, low noise, wide bandwidth and/or high linearity
- Work with systems engineering functions in developing and managing systems level RF requirements, developing operational systems concepts, and assisting with system architecture trade studies.
- Verify and validate aspects of system designs to ensure conformance with functional specifications and customer requirements.
- Define the technical approach and details of RF designs he/she is responsible for.
- Lead root cause and corrective action investigations
- Participate in the generation of specifications, Test procedures, and other necessary drawings and documentation
- Support proposal and report generation
- Mentor junior engineers

Required Skills and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Scientific field and 8+ years related experience or Master’s Degree and 6+ years relevant design experience with specialization in RF, microwave, or millimeter-wave engineering
- US citizen with the ability to obtain Secret clearance
- Fluent with Keysight ADS (preferred) or equivalent software, such as Microwave Office
- Experience in CCA design and/or hermetic modules for high reliability applications
- Strong communication, presentation and writing skills
- Experience designing tuner modules and/or frequency converters
- Proficiency with 2D or 3D EM modeling using software tools such as Axiem, HFSS
