BAE Systems’ Mission Assessments (MA) organization is revolutionizing how mission-level operational analysis is planned, executed, and delivered. The Mission Assessments organization was created to address the rapidly increasing demand for mission-level operational analysis. Our mission is to achieve excellence in Multidomain Operations (MDO), systems-of-systems (SoS) Mission Assessments and effectively communicate the value of BAE Systems products to customers, DoD leadership and the warfighter. To do this we must bring together models of advanced technologies, weapons, platforms, and threats in relevant mission simulations – and then apply our deep subject matter expertise and experience to deliver assessments that can change the world.
BAE Systems is seeking a highly motivated Threat Analyst to join the Mission Assessments team to assist with our mission. The Threat Analyst is responsible for working directly with the Threat Analysis Lead to gather and create data products needed to fully understand the threats and assist with the production of threat models in support of Mission Level Analysis. The Threat Analyst will also help to maintain a library of threat data and models that are up to date and available for Mission Analysis Studies.
The Threat Analyst reports to the MA Technical Director. They will work with the Threat Analysis Lead, MA Tech Director, Mission Area Leads, and Study Managers to support operational analysis studies executed by MA Analysts. The Threat Analyst will be responsible for supplying the analysis team with threat models and threat information. They will also support each BAE Systems Business Area Tech Director and the Business Area Product Lines with threat information required to perform on each of their respective contracts. The candidate should understand the various intelligence products available to build models of the threats and how to obtain them.
The ideal candidate has experience with engineering threat analysis, intelligence products and organizations, modeling and simulation, DoD missions, and/or EW technologies.
Responsibilities include:
- Support the Threat Analysis Lead briefing the business areas and MA Engineering team with timely updates to current and emerging threats.
- Working with theThreat Analysis Lead to create and document engineering threat analyses of current and future threats.
- Take direction from the MA Tech Director, MA Engineering Lead, and Threat Analysis Lead regarding tradecraft, prioritization, and execution of studies and tasks.
- Assist Study Managers and Study Leads in building threat models that support MA Studies, under the direction of the Threat Analysis Lead
- Interface with BAE internal customers, including MA study teams, product lines, or business area technical directors and other technical staff, as a point person for threat models, threat, mission information.
- Brief threat intelligence and threat model updates, providing recommendations and threat expertise to product line and business area tech directors, other BA technical staff to help keep the technical teams up to date on the lates threat data.
- Contribute to threat related IR&D technical execution
- Support a Sector level threat library that supports the wide variety of efforts across the ES Sector, including periodic updates to BA technical staff on key threats of interest.

Required Skills and Education
- Active Secret Clearance and ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI and SAP clearances
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and 6+ years technical experience
- Critical thinking skills that will be exercised across multiple levels of detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with DoD warfighting operations in any domain
- Experience using analysis tools such as MATLAB, Python, C/C++, or similar tools.
- Strong customer focus and ability to build and manage relationships with internal business area customers, as well as external commercial and defense ecosystem partners.
Preferred Skills and Education
- Active Top Secret / SCI Clearance and eligible for Special Access Program clearance
- Expertise in Electronic Warfare, Weapons, Optics, or Communications
- Familiarity with multi-domain mission scenarios and military operations
- Experience with collaborative Modeling and Simulation environments and the DoD OA community.
- Strong communications skills ranging from technical briefings to executive level presentations.
- Knowledge of mission simulation driven by Model Based Systems Engineering
- Experience working with intelligence agencies
- Knowledge of DevSecOps and DevSecOps pipeline driven by mission simulation-enabled test environments.
- Experience with tools, infrastructure, and security constraints of DoD environments.
- Experience using mission simulation, or intelligence tools such as AFSIM, DIADS, JSE, BRAWLER, STK, TMAP, ESAMS, JMEM, EWIRDB, CED, JAAM, etc.
