Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a talented and driven Software Engineer, with minimum 2 years’ experience, to join its’ Countermeasure & Electromagnetic Attack Solutions (CEMA) group in Hudson, New Hampshire to support the Compass Call program. This role focuses on designing, developing and maintaining software for the electronic warfare system, leveraging open system architecture and software-defined radio (SDR) technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop software solutions primarily in C++ in a Linux development environment utilizing open system architecture principles.
- Develop, test, and deploy software-defined radio (SDR) applications.
- Support software lifecycle activities, including requirement analysis, design documentation, coding, testing, debugging, and system verification.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including systems, hardware, and test engineers to ensure seamless integration.
- Ensure compliance with software development standards and security protocols.

Required Skills and Education
- Active Top-Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, and minimum of 2 years work experience
- CompTIA Security+ Certification
- Experience with SDR integration and services
- Familiarity with open system architecture principles and modular software design
- Proficiency in object-oriented design, development practices, and implementation in C++
- Experience developing for, and operating in, the Linux Environment
- Experience with software automated test development and execution
- Strong and current experience with some/all the following tools: Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket), Git
- Strong problem-solving and collaborative skills that translate to working software
Preferred Skills and Education
- Proficiency in real-time embedded software development
- Hands-on experience with electronic warfare systems, signal processing, and RF communications
- Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies
- Experience performing software testing, validation, and verification activities
- Software algorithm design and implementation
- Experience with continuous integration, e.g. Jenkins
