The primary purpose of this position as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) Officer is to serve as the Senior Reserve Advisor to the HAF/A4L Logistics, Engineering and Force Protection Director and AFRC Commander, providing operational planning, strategic guidance, and execution with respect to situational awareness and operational control of Reserve activities. This job does not have an education qualification requirement. Serve as the Senior Advisor/Special Assistant to the Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) Commander to provide expert advice on all logistical planning support operations and issues as well as direction of special projects.
Assist the Commander in planning and coordinating future operations; direct and control current mobilization; protect forces and critical infrastructure.
Formulate policy, provides guidance and direction, and maintain surveillance over all aspects of maintenance at depot and field level, as well as engineering and force protection.
Assess the effectiveness of program execution; recommend action, as appropriate to adjust resources, change procedures, systems, or policies to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the aircraft maintenance program.
Recommend initiatives, special projects, and broad studies with shared responsibility for planning and evaluating integrated operations, programs and policies.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level (or other equivalent pay systems) in federal service which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA’s) to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience is experience which includes assisting in planning, organizing and carrying through to completion analytical studies involving key program relative to the organization role and component mission; providing operational planning, strategic guidance and execution to higher level personnel with respect to situational awareness and operational control and provide training to organization personnel.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of a wide range of concepts, principles, practices, laws and regulations of logistics management functions and of trends or current developments within the function.
Knowledge of the missions, roles, functions, organizational structures and operations that govern and interface with customer requirements for identification of strategic and long-range management planning issues.
Ability to objectively analyze information, identify new developments and direct appropriate logistics program actions.
Ability to plan, organize and direct team study works/special projects and to influence management to support and implement recommendations.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships and ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in relations with high ranking officials (military or civilian).
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
