Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in Patuxent River, Maryland is seeking an Aeronautical Engineer to join the Flying Qualities and Performance team. In this role, you will support flight test activities at Patuxent River Naval Air Station on the F-35B and F-35C aircraft as part of the Air Vehicle (AV) Department. The AV flight science disciplines are responsible for verification and expansion of capabilities in developmental and operational test.
In this role, you will be tasked with test planning, preparing test predictions, supporting test flight briefings/debriefings, providing real time control room monitoring during test flights, requesting/analyzing post-flight data, post-test reporting, and supporting anomaly resolution. The successful candidate will have an interest in test engineering.
A level 2 employee Typically has 2 – 5 years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications
Experience as real-time discipline monitor for aircraft Flying Qualities or Performance flight test. Flight test experience shall include formal test planning and reporting.
Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.

Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
