Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff

This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will be responsible for providing support for the integration of Joint Command and Control (JC2) systems, applications, processes, and evolving situational awareness (SA) technologies to facilitate the SA. Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
As a Common Operations Picture Manager at the GS-0301-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • Managing data from combatant commands and developing and executing tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) for integrating these concepts and associated initiatives.
  • Specifying appropriate filters for dissemination of Common Operations Picture (COP) data and establishing effective Common Operations Picture database management procedures that ensure reliable data.
  • Maintaining the integrity of Common Operations Picture topology in accordance with the Common Operations Picture CONOPS and tactics, techniques, and procedures.
  • Assisting in the development of firewall rule-sets for coalition Common Operations Picture requirements.
  • Coordinating with and integrating the intelligence and/or operations disciplines, and team together with Common Operations Picture managers of other disciplines.
  • Providing support for the integration of Joint Command and Control (JC2) systems, applications, processes, and evolving situational awareness (SA) technologies to facilitate the situational awareness.

You may qualify at the GS-14 grade level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:

  • Developing and executing tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for joint and multinational task forces.
  • Integrating Common Operational Picture (COP) products from applications such as Sharepoint, Global Adaptive Planning Collaborative Information Environment (GAP CIE) and Global Command & Control System Joint (GCCS-J)developing
  • Performing mission analysis, contingency planning, crisis action planning, staff estimates, and Operation Plans (OPLANS)/Concept Plans (CONPLAN) development for joint and multinational task forces.
  • Responding to current and future mission requirements through the optimal delivery of knowledge management systems and services.
