Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: The incumbent will serve as a Range Maintenance Worker at the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization, and Security (DPTMS) in Fort Sill, OK. Screen Out: I am able to perform the common Range Maintenance Worker tasks including the ability to conduct maintenance of grounds and facilities. I have the ability to complete routine tasks with the supervisor checking the work performed at the end of each task.

  • Physical Efforts: This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping and climbing and lifting of equipment at or above 40 pounds (Medium Lifting). Routinely Lifting of parts and assemblies 70 pounds to occasionally 100 pounds (heavy lifting) with the assistance of another employee. At the WG-7 level the work requires frequent bending, climbing, reaching, standing and walking.
  • Working Conditions: The work in this position is performed on firing ranges in all types of weather. Work subjects employee to hazards of high-pressure lines and high voltage lines, cuts, bruises, shock and various kinds of bites. Protective clothing is worn. At the WG-7 level work is performed in an area outside exposed to noise, dust, grease and the possibility of cuts, bruises and shock.
